1702 Chair
The 1702 Chair was developed as part of a course to sustainably redesign the Pratt residential dorms. One concept proposed was to refurbish the rooms using only materials already present within the space. The 1702 Chair was made from disassembling the original dorm chair into stock pieces, removing the polyurethane finish, and reassembling the pieces into a new chair with both a higher comfort level and a finer aesthetic. An instruction manual was then developed to allow other students to recreate the chair.
